    Default Unprofessional Watchmaker

Just to make it clear, this watchmaker was NOT from here

Hi all. Been very happy with my reps over the last few yrs. I remember getting my first one back in 2011/12 which is still running fine till date.

I had a couple of very decent Panerai's which needed service/repair and having sent them off to someone, I didn't get them back till well over 6 months (he kept lying, saying they're almost done and will be sent back in the next few days). I wouldn't have minded if they were returned in a working condition either, instead got them back as in the pictures attached, with parts missing.

To make it worse, this so called watchmaker charged me an amount upfront which he promised to return afterwards but hasn't (and I've gathered isn't willing to either)

Am I allowed to name/give out details of this person here? (Not because I want to but because I don't want anyone else to suffer the same)

His *bay id was also removed, I can only assume he did this with many others too? Which explains why I had to pay something upfront

I'd have much more choice, stronger words to describe this guy, than him being "unprofessional "

    That's terrible!

Wow. They not only ruined your watches, then robbed you of a chance to even salvage the parts by packing them up like that. Hands loose in a baggy with crown guards? Watch cases piled on top of delicate pinions? Name and shame for sure, they do not deserve anonymity. What did you pay and can you dispute the charges? Sorry to see this. That is no watchmaker that did that.

If you're in the US feel free to email me, if I can help somehow I will. Looks like seagull st25 movements in them?

Alright mate, if your in the UK I have the ceramica GMT. I've never worn it and probably will not. Its got your name on it if you cover the postage and packing, and me having to queue up at the post office for half hour with my mask on, call it £30 all in, EU £45 rest of the world you'll have to find yourself a watch smith pal.

    Thanks, I'm in the UK.
I've been told they're modified A7750's with missing parts now.
Completely new movements may be the only way to salvage them, if that's a viable possibility :/

I had a similar experience with a guy here in Spain many years ago. I sent him my AP ROO Safari, one of my favorites at that time. After many months waiting, at least I got it in one piece. With some scratches in the dial, but at least I got it...
    Good luck.

Your most welcome mate, I hope that faith in this game has been restored. Please do us all one favour, don't send your watches to anyone that's not been recommended via one of the gents on the forum. Put the shout out, and one of them will come back to you, [probably more if you upgrade your membership HINT.] Good luck with it all.

    Andy G.
