Thumbs down This is why we don't buy 'swiss' movements.

A nice member ordered this and paid premium to get a swiss movement. This is what we actually got:

badly glued rotor, grease and fingerprints everywhere, clone balance and of course massive corrosion on barrel.

guys please do not buy 'swiss'.

That looks like a second hand clone movement.

You should share more details, like who was the dealer, what was the brand/model name.

If the source is trusted, than you got a swiss movement, that simple.

That's an old movement, for sure. Old style regulator and not necessarily franken.

+1 - the components appear to be swiss, just of poor condition. Any more insight available on the particular dealer?

    Thumbs up

There is a huge stock of second-hand "Swiss" movements, seems this is one of them. Good job, I thinks i will send you a premium of 1,000GBuck, hehehehe...

haha erm I'm 100% sure this was a franken of parts... the serial codes for a start do not match up :P

I feel bad dropping a dealer into poo... however it was someone not trusted on RWI but trusted here...

The issue IO have is this was a repair for another member... I'm surprised this is the reaction. On RWI it's taken as read that if you pay for swiss in all likelihood you wont get it

And yet, despite evidence like this that has been proliferating over that last year and a half - people will still shell out the dough and swear they're getting brand new, totally swiss made, better than anything movements.

    Hog wash.

And people think I'm stupid for still being a huge fan of the DG2813.

Better getting a new clone than a tattered old ETA movement . Although better still get a SW200 there are several grades of finish the best being right up there with the finish of Gen brands
If you are not buying from us you are paying too much!!! Like for like we are the cheapest on the net

I can assure that big factories donīt use second hand movements, I bet it wasnīt a Seawolf, Steelfish or a Ploprof

I mean they buy batches of thousands of ETA and Sellita movement, and they donīt do this kind of chicken thief scam like using old movement as new, or selling mineral glass instead of sapphire, ... thatīs why Iīm asking you which was the model, so Iīll know which factory..

I like the 2813! I think its a good little movement... I prefer the 2824 and then I prefer the 2892 but hey for $15 a 2813 is beaten by nothing/

Yes, I posted a similar review a long time ago. In that case it was more obvious that it was a recycled movement:
