    Default Seller has gone dark

    Paid for the Daytona on Monday and seller said he would ship Tuesday or Wednesday and send tracking number but has not responded to any messages with an update. username - ddesj74

    Please help

    Nembo.says 2-3 days max for M2M. Barring any personal difficulties it may be time to contact a mod. Especially after.being told it would be shipped by now. Who knows but nothing wrong with giving a mod a head up. We all understand.dealing with the TDs, I hold members to a higher standard. Prompt.delivery and communication has been the whole key advantage of m2m trade. Good.luck.

    Appreciate you understanding my position. I just want to be kept in the loop. Things happen in life and sometimes these forums arenít as important. But would appreciate a response after an expectation is set.

    Default Seller has gone dark

    Got a message from seller with a tracking number 2 days AFTER saying he was going to ship it. Here is proof he just went to the post office:

    Iím positive that this will turn out well but I just donít like being left in the dark.

    As I said before, life throws curve balls and this stuff wonít matter during crucial situations, but aside that, we as buyers would like to be notified of issues or delays. I hope admins understand my position. Thank you

    Patience Grasshopper. Why it took a couple of days to get to the PO is pretty petty. This isn't Amazon. And I've had worse results from Amazon for that matter.

    Yeah it may have taken a few days longer than indicated but not sure it needed all of the screenshots of your comms.

    Normal protocol would be to contact the Mods first, wait for their response and then maybe warn the members if the deal went sour.

    In this case it was just a delay of a few days but you have now brought the forums attention to both yourself and the seller and that may not work well for either of you.

    I hope the watch lives up to your expectations.

    Can you imagine if he bought from a TD who gave him a tracking number and didn't actually ship it for 3 or 4 days?

    What he actually said is "SHOULD be able to ship today or tomorrow."

    The problem seemed.to be a lack of communication. Also, he is not dealing with a TD. You would think member would be more.responsive to each other. Most of us know the TD delays and expect them.

    Not sure how you do it but when I have a watch to send I have it ready to roll. The whole idea is.to surpass the expectations of the TD slow motion.

    If you cannot get it out and a member has paid any delay should be noted and Sent to the buyer. I use m2m primarily for the speed of the exchange. A.quick email or pm sure would ease any anxiety and be the courteous way to treat each other.

    I do not know the background and most of my experiences have been other members have the watch out the same day or the following day.

    The mods even say that While not a rule the reasonable time to ship between members is 2-3 days.

    Why can't we treat and serve each other better than the TDs?

    Maybe old fashioned but it surr seems.to be a respectful way to honor membership. I prefer m2m now over.TD.

    My reaction to the situation was unnecessary. Iím on vacation and the drinking clouded my judgement and I will refrain from posting DMs publicly moving forward.

    Thank you for educating me on normal protocol. Iíve not dealt with a seller who is not responsive and I assumed the worst. I will be more patient and give the benefit of the doubt in the future.

    Iím sure the watch will be great. Fingers crossed

    Patience is virtue in the rep watch hobby.

    The seller of the watch you bought is a long time RG member, 10 years plus, and he has a life when it comes to shipping watches he has sold and you can't expect him to be logged into RG 24 hours a day and ship the watch as soon as he receives payment from you.

    Iíve bought from a TD and know the process. This particular sale Iím in the same country and messaged multiple times before asking for help. I just wanted to be informed. Things happen and this particular hobby of ours isnít very important in the grand scheme of things.

    Iíve sold watches and have the packaging ready for shipping the next day once paid.

    I asked him when he would ship and waited patiently until the time passed with no response and then asked him IF HE HAD shipped (I sent him multiple messages just looking for an update) BEFORE starting this thread. I do not feel I am out of line here.

    Also, I still have not heard from the seller as to the reason of the delay. That is the least someone who has been a member for 10+ years can do. They are well versed in process and can provide an explanation/reason/apology. Iím not looking for a lot. Sometimes itís just as simple as providing some light to the situation.

    He was busy. It happens with people with real lives. The package has shipped. Whether or not he wants to share personal information regarding the cause of the delay that is up to him.

    As for being out of line, actually you were. Normal protocol is approaching staff first before posting a thread, after being advised by said staff. Sometimes things are said when under stress which cannot be taken back once posted in public, even if you edit it afterwards when you realize you may have said something inappropriate. We like to avoid these threads as it creates unnecessary tension between both parties and dogpiling of other well-meanng people who have no horse in this race but may say words like scammer, etc. thereby complicating a simple situation.

    If how he handled your purchase is below your expectations, then you can decide not to transact with him on future sales. Simple.

    Maybe the guy got sick, is in hospital, working his ass off or just didn't get around shipping it in 2 days...have a bit of patience, keep communicating

    Please don't insinuate we don't have real lives. It's rude and disrespectful. I didn't ask for personal information or for it to be shipped immediately.

    Seller set the shipping expectation, missed the timeline and didn't communicate. I messaged him multiple times asking for an update and got no response. I would have gladly accepted "got something come up, will ship soon" vs just no communication.

    I also @mentioned admins and moderators in the sales thread before starting this thread. Not sure if you check the forums.



    I have been nothing but respectful with my messages to seller. I'm sure we all appreciate communication which is all I was looking for.

    I'm not insinuating anything. I said the seller had real life to contend with. Now if you're so insecure to think that I meant you had no real life, that is your problem, not mine. Yes, the seller's response was less than ideal. But neither is your behavior. Do staff check the forums? Yes we do, but keep in mind that like most everyone else, we have real lives to attend to and we are doing this without any compensation.

    As for your claim that you mentioned admin and mods, you should know that your method does not work. You should mention a specific name. It's like mentioning member and then expecting the correct one to reply to you. But again, this is not the way. Send a PM to staff, it is much more direct.
