Default What can you say ?

It's obvious...there are some great gen quartz watches, and great rep quartz watches...then there are quartz models that are reps of gens that would never be quartz. Advantage ? Well, you can have working subdials, stopwatch and pretty nice looking as well as accurate reproductions. I had a PN Daytona that was great ...keep the stopwatch off and nobody will catch it. I have a quartz Pam Ferrari. I almost spent big bucks on a gen when I realized I could get a very good rep and then I got the quartz because of the stopwatch feature.
For me, it's not a big deal unless it's an obvious Rolex and it's ticking. Most people don't know the difference with any OTHER watch anyway. Omega , Patek, AP, Hublot, U-Boat...You can get away with it because these are not as well known . I like never setting it and winding it after leaving it in my box for months...

Seriously, most people I know have no clue about the difference between automatic mechanical watches and a quartz battery watch. I was shocked. These are not dummies either. Maybe they are just not "Watch" people. Certainly quartz is more accurate....more dependable...I suppose in most cases....They look as good, but as some claim, they just don't have that soulfulness that a mechanical movement exhibits in that all those parts are working harmoniously.....I also love my manual watches but......many now just use their phone instead...talk about no soul.....
On the other hand "Does anybody really know what time it is "?

Think about this...If all the power and the batteries stop working, who will you call to find out what time to set on your AUTOMATIC ? My next watch? A SUNDIAL or Solar powered.. Yeah , that's the ticket...and one for my wife...Morgan Fairchild....yeah that's the ticket !

Morgan Fairchild...and yes she was. I wore out my VHS copy of The Seduction because I played certain parts over, and over, and over...

A waste of such meaningful and thoughtful posts. I liked the one where he talked about martial arts and kicking the coffee can.

I've tried searching for witless1979 - pardon - wireless1979 in the username search box, but it yielded no results. His rants are now a part of RG history.
In the past we used to have some high-profile members who constantly went on drunken rants about politics and the economy, courtesy of 2007-08 GFC, but they're long gone now.
