I accidentally wore a rep Pam into a dealer's showroom. They wanted to take a look at it, and after admiring it closely, they said "beautiful watch!".

Most people will just look dumbfounded that you wear a watch at all (why, when you can check the time on your phone?). They have no clue what luxury watch brands are...

Even if they spotted it as a fake they probably would just say “beautiful watch”. They would not likely want to draw attention from other prospective buyers by calling out a fake. I think it’s suspicious that they “wanted to take a look at it”. I would’ve told them to **** off. Why you shown an AD your rep for them to “admire closely”

Because one day you could be buying a GEN, and they would be happy to sell it to you

Never been called out. But i only wear super reps or frankens which make it almost impossible to call it out unless the caseback is opened.

True and it all depends on your overall appearance. Prior to these forums I had cheap reps from ioffer\dhgate and no one could tell it was a fake.

Last week I went to my niece's wedding in Florida. Brother-in-law was sporting a Pam 196 and I was surprised since he is such a tightwad. He has made a lot of money in the oil business in Houston, but is seriously the tightest guy I know. I mentioned the watch and he took it off and handed it to me, adding that he got it for his wife and she didn't like it, so he was wearing it. Well, now I was pretty sure it was a replica since he traveled extensively in China. One glance at the watch and it revealed itself, but I said nothing. I could tell the rep because it looks exactly like my 196 from before they got the date font fixed. What was to be gained?l :grin

I have felt embarrassed in my house because of the frustration reps cause when you can and have owned the gen but it is the lazy and obvious engineered flaws they put in to keep many any many revision to keep coming out.

They can in fact make an TRUE 1:1 rep INCLUDING THE MOVEMENT and make it available for under 1000usd for absolutely sure, problem is that business model of making a perfect 116610ln won't make them any money because once its made they can't have a million other version and the one factory who makes everything can't have their fake "competitor factories" (that they own) spit out a similar but slightly different version.

have I ever had the same watch as someone, yes multiple times, most recently was with a smurf, but where I live and the industry we are in (cars) it is more likely to be a rep than likely any other industry. embarrassed? only if he could have spat out that is was a rep from across the table.

Most people have no clue about watches in my experience.

Also many of the Super Clones are that good these days they could even fool some watch aficionados.

If people compliment my watch I will just say thanks.

All the time, and also I feel sad for myself, That's why I started to sell all of my replicas.
I'm lucky enough to have two real Rolex (submariner 2008 and a milgauss 2012) and I'm wearing only them at all times.
No more replicas for me, goodbye cruel world of fake watches.

Only when I realize that I have so many reps that the people I see on a day-to-day basis are starting to question how many watches I own. Luckily, most are not common “luxury” brands that most folks are familiar with.

Meh, whatever. We all have our little idiosyncrasies.

Well, you can't be too sure. Reminds me of a funny anecdote. A guy walks into a car dealership looking at the cars, wearing a messenger bag, shorts and flip flops. He wasn't bothering the other customers so the staff did not mind him. In fact they ignored him completely, even when he was pointing to the cars and asking how much they were. Made him feel like a nobody. So he walked out dejected. A few days later, a brand new SUV from a competing dealership stopped in front of their store. The guy who was wearing the flip flops was driving. He was just taking a stroll the other day and went into their dealership and thought, nice cars, maybe I'll buy one today. But they made him feel like he was nothing, so he went into the nearest dealership from there and when they entertained his inquiries, he bought a car from them. Bought a car just out of spite. Which in turn, reminds me of a scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts' character who was told she could not afford any of their clothes by one store came back bringing an insane number of bags asking them "Do you earn by commission?" "Big mistake...BIG MISTAKE" and walked out like a boss.

I heard from a luxury car salesman once that one of the first things they look at is your watch. Wealthy people don't always dress flashy (cough *Gucci gang*) but they almost always have a nice watch.
