Default Go see The Dark Knight...

Man, just got back from The Dark Knight. Absolutely awesome. Great plot, incredible action, wonderful cast (except Gyllenhall), music was good. Lives up to the hype and then some... Heath Ledger was the perfect joker...perfect...

oh yes, saw it yesterday. the new batman just keeps on getting better!

I agree with austintech 100%. Gyllenhall may be a great actress but damnit there are so many hotter talented actresses out there :P

btw, I loved the pen magic trick by joker. lol

I thought the interest was just due to the dead guy....

HAHAHA! Yes, the pen trick was awesome...

BTW - Kate would have been much better than Gyllenhall.

Took my youngest son to see the show today. Very good. Kind of hard to follow the action at times because it moves so fast. Should have been called, "The Joker," or something like that because he stole the show.
Sue Lor: All the people in this house are very traditional. Number one: never touch a Hmong person on the head. Not even a child. The Hmong people believe that the soul resides on the head, so don't do that.
Walt Kowalski: Well... Sounds dumb, but fine.
Sue Lor: Yeah, and a lot of Hmong people consider looking someone in the eye to be very rude! That's why they look away when you look at them.
    Walt Kowalski: Yeah. Anything else?
Sue Lor: Yeah... some Hmong people tend to smile or grin, when they're yelled at. It's a cultural thing, it expresses embarrassment or insecurity. It's not that they're laughing at you or anything.
Walt Kowalski: Right, you people are nuts.

ALl the hype is over the dead guy playing a closet gay cowboy. The velvet mafia that is Hollywood is screaming OSCAR! from they're tastefully decorated lofts in LA.

Just saw it. Very good. A little 'busy' at times, but an amazing cast and very good special effects. The 'Reboot' of Batman is great - the Batman as the 'Dark Knight' as he is portrayed in the comics is something they've begun to capture quite well.

Just depends where you go. My theater had some clapping at times, but was overall quite well behaved. And yes, it's probably the best movie of the summer. I LOVED Iron Man when I broke down and saw it, but this I wanted to see, knew the hype, and it STILL blew the doors off. What a GREAT flick!!!

I'm not usually a fan of comic book movies....especially the earlier Batman movies.....but I must confess this was just short of being excellent...the narrative could have been more focussed...needed a bit more form to it...the opening scenes with the bank robbery are well choreographed and lay the foundation for what is to come.....this isn't a movie for kids.....however....it lived up to any hype.......great writing.....great acting....especially Ledger...he brought a dark malevolence to the role of the Joker never seen before......!

2x spoilers for me...Gyllenhall....Jeez she's pot ugly.....she must have hit every branch on the way down...Claire Forlani would have been my choice for the role.....!

Secondly...when Bale is in TB mode.....his voice....it goes down about 2x octaves...and sounds as if he's been gargling with roof nails....not sure if it's an attempt to disguise his voice...or just sound tough and mean....!

Overall a great movie..... Nolan has stamped a great deal of authority on the franchise...unlike previous directors.....Burton included.... well worth seeing....!

Of the summer blockbusters so far....!

    Wanted.....nah.....absolute drivel...!

    Hancock....duh....how about a plot....?

    Hellboy.....fantastic.....great escapism.....love the big guy....

    Dark Knight...excellent....!

    JTCOTE...coming soon.....!

    The Mummy...TOTDE.....coming soon...looks good....I like Brendan F....!

Saw this at the premier on Thursday here in Sydney. Fan-bloody-tastic!. The action was incredible, the drama really interesting and the plot easy to follow and not always predictable. Not sure if I rate it as good or better than the first movie as it didn't really build like the first movie did, but perhaps it wasn't meant to. Either way I really had a great time.

I dont want to follow all the Hollywood dribble but really, Heath was incredible in this. His mannerisms were what did it for his character. Really outstanding performance and what a great character to play. Where many of the characters just seemed to be typical with no real substance, The Joker was just in your face and totally believable.

Bael is something of an unknown quantity to me. I really like him as Batman but then I dont like him also. Cant out my finger on it. He's a great cocky Bruce Wayne though I think. Batman wasn't the star of this movie though imo, The Joker was (not heath but the joker). Morgan and Michael were fine but didn't really grab me like in the first movie.

TBH the only thing I really hated (really hated) was Maggie Gylengjfghuigfg playing Rachel Dawes. I dont really mind Maggie in general in movies but not this. I didn't know until tonight that Katie wasn't in the movie. Dawes was a serious and much more likable character in the first movie, in this she was too all over the place and just not believable. It was like she didn't give a **** about Bruce unlike the first. I assume this casting was due to Katie Holmes being pregnant at the time this was filmed.

Thoroughly enjoyed the movie - bring on Quantum of Solace!!!

ADoc made a good point, it was more "The Joker" then Batman ...

clearly the best of all the Bat films to date, well on its way to a top box office posting!

Gets my recommendation to see also.

Anyone pay attention to the psychology of the joker throughout the movie. His story constantly changes (on how he got his smile/scars) then he starts talking about how he doesn't like guns, but he's using one in the next scene...everything to make you want to label him as a homicidal schizophrenic.

I mean if we all lived in Gotham and ran into the joker, you wouldn't know if he'd kill you or give you $1000.....though he'd probably kill your ass. hahahaah

Exceeded my expectations! Ledger was great.

The disappearing pen trick had me rolling! (unfortunately, I was the only one in the theater who was busting a gut much to the disapproval of my girlfriend.

    Enjoyed it.

Especially with my city, the best city in the world prominently featured.

Just ordered (a few) that same knife the Joker uses in the movie.

Maybe I'll throw one in for the next raffle...
