Default Is there any Trusted Dealer site that actually WORKS?

I've been on this site over half an hour now. Went through all the trusted dealer links at the top of the page - all dead.

When to the trusted dealer forum page, started going through the domains they post. Each one dead.

    What's up with that?

Please can someone link me to a working trusted dealer website?

This was a subject of another recent thread and this comes up regularly on RG.

Should Trusted Dealers list be updated, maybe?
The URLs change on a regular basis. The latest ones will be under the TD's section on the RG main web page.

Would it be too much to ask that in order to be a trusted dealer they keep an active and current link in their own Signature blocks?

I know the mods seem hands off but a new person can get frustrated even with all the search and read posts by senior members.

It seems that as far as good business goes I would have my business website as the business name or title.

What is really ironic is the older members who will spend 30 minutes explaining how dumb a newb is when they could have put the correcting or resolving the issue in 5. Maybe not as much an irony as just the new reality of the internet generation, where being rude or garnering snickers and laughs is more important than helping someone out? I

So many forget how they were once new to this world and it can be overwhelming. Again if I were a TD I would do a better job of keeping the website current and available. Maybe the TDs have too much business?

You have to remember that RG is a small audience for the TDs and they are almost certainly TDs on other sites.
While maintaining these links might seem a small task in light of possible business opportunities, most TDs are small concerns working on the edge of the law. They do not have the infrastructure or personnel to spend time visiting the various sites updating links. They probably do most of their business via casual surfers finding their site through search engines. When time is a premium and you have the decision to make as whether to fill orders or spend a few hours updating links, I suspect that the former will always take precedent.

I agree entirely that looking for the TDs web page can be frustrating task, but wait until you get into navigating through payment type options and evaluating QC images and then tearing your hair out while you wait for weeks as your purchase creeps seemingly like a tortoise through the postal services and customs.
After that, spending a couple of minutes tracking down a website will seem like therapy!

Great post and by helping a newb along not only helps them with a first purchase it gives them more feeling of community. They are more likely to stay, learn, buy, VIP, repeat buy, help others later on. What is not to make that a win for us all? I could not imagine a young or new driver having a flat in our neighborhood and neighbors shouting out the window to read their owner's manual.

Let me add an important concept here, at the risk of sounding unpleasant but then again I prefer honesty above diplomacy
I've been living in Asia now for over 10 years, I travel extensively through Asia, I'm married to a "local", i run this forum, have contact with all dealers and suppliers... and guys what you call customer service in the "West" it's a concept that's lost in many Asian countries... China being the prime example
That's the mistake that many of you make with dealers, applying your idea of customer service to people that can't understand It and for the most part doesn't even want to
Same goes for concepts of good business practice, things that for us are assumed knowledge, I would say common sense.. are not the same here

Caprice wrote a post-for new members to this hobby- with all the updated sites, probably it took a lot more than 30 mins to make that write up - you can thank him the effort.

The links sometimes are broken-because the TDs sell counterfeit goods so sometimes they face some (legal) problems and change their servers.

There are plenty of companies in the UK that could also fit that appraisal. I've had better 'customer service' from buying a rep from China than I have when buying a lawn mower from my local garden centre.

In Poland there's a guy who bought a brand new $250.000 S63AMG Benz, took delivery of a dangerously faulty vehicle, spent his own money on several mechanical verifications by independent experts, all of whom universally agreed that the vehicle in question has a factory flaw beyond repair, even took the car to Germany for additional inspections by the German branch of the company and ended up getting shouted at and ridiculed by one of the managers of the dealer who sold him the faulty vehicle. If someone knows the language it's all documented on YouTube. Once i saw this, i realized that the concept of customer service is alien to some people - or even to whole cultures.
