This is my first Rep and feel the AP logo under the 12 is a dead giveaway (purchased from chazingtime) Is it possible for someone to mod my rep to a gen dial or at the very least a gen AP logo? sorry if this is a stupid question. I am new to the rep world.

Purchase a gen dial and have SSTEEL install the gen dial.

The logo on the gen varies between the older model and their latest gen release. Donít fret about it, you have a great quality rep that no one will call you out on. Itís all covered in the various reviews over in the Audemars Piguet watch section. Head over there and get educated on this watch, your fears will be allayed Iím sure.[emoji6]

You could try eBay. When Iím looking for something specific I save the search and get notifications. Itís been successful for me the majority of times.

Also, try the sales area on the gen AP forum here:

Going franken for a 15400 is more than just a gen dial. You'll also need to address the thickness from 10.5 to 9.8, it makes a lot of difference especially when sitting across a conversation and observing the wearer's watch.

Besides that, there are also two movements you need to look into,

- miyota 9015 - you'll need slaughterer62 to drill the top movement in order to accomodate the gen dial feet. Please do not cut off the gen dial feet as this will devaluate the gen dial instantly. Cut rep metal not gen. The down side of this movement is that you cant mod it low beat (like gen) and also cant use aftermarket datewheel. The benefit is that it has a deco plate at the back and is cheaper to go with this option.
- Asian, swiss 2824 - you can use legend's, mikey's DW on this movement, mod low beat like gen. but down side is the thickness of this movement, hence have to forgo deco plates. since 15400 is transparent case back, you might have an issue if you take it off your wrist.

For watch case, you'll need to seek other mod's advise on it. The last thing you want is getting a bunch of parts like JF, TF, BP parts all mixed up together.

Its very subjective on how much you want to spend on a rep watch. And ultimately how you look at it, each path has different outcomes. For me i'm choosing Miyota 9015, since its easier and less risky compared to the other Swiss 2824 option which can make things rather costly and complicated on how the project will develop.

If you're planning to go 2824, your best bet is to get Slaughterer and Legend to work together. You'll need slaughterer's work on the drilling into the Swiss 2824 since he is the only guy in the whole world i presume who know this, and have him sent the movement to legend, legend can install the gen dial, his DW, mod 9015 hands to fit 2824 movement, mod low beat and also thin the JF case for you. He can work pretty damn fast, like turn around within weeks or a month's time, but its going to be quite costly.

2824 Budget
$1300 for gen dial
$380 for watch
$130 2xAR
$400 for Swiss ETA 2824 (estimate, cant remember how much he quoted me exactly)
$120 for DW
$XXX for other mods as stated above (how he charger's is up to his discretion, so I can't disclose the price)

9015 Budget
$1300 for gen dial
$380 for watch from Loco louie (this guy took my money and went into oblivion)
$130 2xAR
$XXX (need to dismantle Loco louie's thinned movement and have it sent to slaughterer for gen dial feet mod, and have him sent it back to me)
$XX local mod disassembly and assembly chargers

I have a 9015. I don't want anything except for the gen dial. I don't really care to thin the case

Are 2824 datewheels compatible with 2892? 2892 are very thin. I think thinner than Miyotas.

2824 and 2892 is a very similar movement. DateWheels are interchangeable but it's not thinner than a Miyota.

If youre running both of these movements, its unlikely it will be able to take in the deco plates.

Its sort of a give and take situation. If you have more money to spend and want it to look as gen as possible from the outside and dont mind loosing the back plates, go A2824. If you are on a budget and dont mind sacrificing to use stock DW and non low beat movement, then go with Miyota 9015.
